The Client said: The Fraser Centre Community Trust is delighted to have been selected as the winner of the RICS Social Impact Awards 2020 Scotland, Leisure category.

We are thrilled to have had the new Fraser Centre recognised with this award and would like to thank Fleming Buildings for nominating us and the support of our design team led by Norr UK. And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the new Fraser Centre and we look forward to welcoming you back when we can re-open our doors later in the year.

The judges said: The New Fraser Centre has transformed the availability and quality of community leisure opportunities in Tranent. The new facility has been developed on the site of the previous facility, a former cinema that was inherently compromised and ultimately condemned as not fit for purpose. The new centre provides high quality flexible spaces, a cinema, café and small commercial office units within a simple new building. It delivers more than the sum of its parts, and transformational the benefit to the Tranent community.
