Hillhead Community Centre is a modern, multifunctional building that can house a variety of regular groups and activities, as well as playing host to one-off events.

Hillhead Community Centre is normally host to GRACE (Group Recovery Aftercare Community Enterprise), Citizens Advice Bureau Outreach, and the Small Talk Café.

The Centre is located at the heart of the Hillhead community surrounded by domestic dwellings providing convenient and easy access for all.

We were appointed to Design & Build the new community facility for Hillhead in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Council and HUB West.

The building provides creche, office facilities, meeting spaces, a workshop, large multi-purpose hall along with a café and commercial kitchen. Externally, works included all hard and soft landscaping with the formation of a car park, access road and pedestrian foot paths.

Our contract included the demolition of existing centre and preparing the site for the new build single storey timber-frame community centre, incorporating feature glulam trusses and steel frame to support plant room on upper floor.

  • This project won Community Partnership of Year at the Scottish Property Awards
  • Finalist for RICS Community Benefit Award
  • Design created through extensive community consultation
  • Designed to reduce running costs by over 50% with all criteria met in construction
