Fleming is pleased to announce the award of several new construction contracts across central Scotland, further strengthening its 2025 delivery pipeline and reinforcing its position as a trusted partner for high-quality, community-serving buildings.
The latest project wins span a range of sectors, including healthcare, early years and faith-based developments, with both new-build and complex refurbishment works now underway across multiple sites.
In Clydebank, Fleming has been appointed to deliver a carefully phased refurbishment at St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, the first and largest hospice in Scotland. Since 1950, the hospice has supported thousands of patients with advanced life-limiting illness and complex needs.
The new programme of works will enable the replacement of key building fabric elements and the internal reconfiguration and refurbishment of St Joseph’s Ward, all while the facility remains fully operational. Delivered in two phases, the project will also include the construction of a new ambulance bay and entrance canopy, requiring close coordination to minimise disruption to ongoing care.
In Edinburgh, work is now underway on a multi-phase redevelopment of Colinton Mains Church. Phase 1 will see the demolition of an existing two-storey structure and construction of a new, fully accessible worship area alongside new toilets, office space and circulation areas.
This will be followed by a programme of alterations and redecoration to the existing hall block and the adjoining listed church building, as well as the full replacement of internal services and refurbishment of the car park. The new construction will feature glazed and insulated timber-framed external walls and a standing-seam metal roof.
Elsewhere, Fleming has commenced work on a new early years and community facility in Milton, Glasgow, which will become the new home of Scaraway Nursery and North United Communities. Delivered in partnership with Hub West Scotland and Glasgow City Council, supported by the Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund, the project will bring high-quality education and support services under one roof.
